Landon's Brazil Birthday Party

My kids are obsessed with Brazil.
Their grandparents have been serving in Brazil for two years.  They have one more year left, and it's an amazing country with wonderful people!
Landon has been to Brazil twice in his young life so, it was no surprise when he requested a Brazilian birthday party for his 8th birthday.

Dave served a two year mission in Brazil when he was 19 and so he was happy to make Landon a Brazilian cake.
Landon was excited for his birthday to say the least:)

We had each of the kids see if they could color a Brazilian flag without looking at while we waited for everyone to get there. Some of the kids guessed the colors right but none were 100%.
When they were finished they got to see just how close they were.

Then we played "pin the teeth on the capybara"
Which is a large rodent that lives in Brazil.
You can find them waddling around quite a few parks in Brazil.
They are so ugly they are cute!:)

Then we turned on Brazilian music and played the chocolate bar game.
When the music is playing, you pass the chocolate bar around, and when the music stops the person who is holding the chocolate bar gets to try to open it as fast as they can.

It was wrapped with A LOT of tape so this game took a while.

The person who got it all the way open got to keep it.

Soccer is huge in Brazil, and so is this ball!
We set up a soccer field in the backyard, and let the kids play.

They worked up an appetite for cake.
And guarana which is a yummy Brazilian pop that we brought back with us from Brazil just for Landon's party.
Those pink packages you see by the guarana are delicious Brazilian chewy candies for the take home treat.
We brought those back from Brazil as well.

We sang happy birthday.

And let them eat cake:)

Lastly, we filled a pool with Brazilian colored water beads and let the kids play and splash around till parents came.

Landon was so happy.
We love celebrating him, and feel so lucky to have him in our family.
He is wonderful!
