I have soooooo many pictures of Oaklyn's first year that I not only had to make a part one and two of it, but doing extensive descriptions for each picture sounded like too much work. I thought it might be best to just get them all up with a brief description so I can be all caught up and done with back blogging. I want to put them into a book for our family journal.
I will let the pictures do the story telling for this year of our lives:)
Oaklyn's first shopping experience
Counting chocolate chip lady bug spots
4th of July!

Site word/ letter sound water balloon smash. They say the word or letter sound and get to smash the balloon.

They pretended to be bugs caught in the web.

Letter sound salt writing.
Oaklyn found a new friend...
Crazy morning filled with fighting children, made into a very quiet afternoon. We used tape to divide up the room, and they had to go without the pleasure of one another's company for a little while. This week was one of THOSE weeks. Oaklyn is the middle. She didn't want to take sides:)
Popsicles cure poison ivy
Playing doctor dress-up. Each of the boys got $1 at the church rummage sale. This is what Landon chose. He loved playing doctor like his Dad.
Landon and I played outside while the other 2 were still sleeping. We played tractors and caught a frog. Landon named him George.
10 cents at a yard sale = a fun filled afternoon for Easton.
Balloon rockets with friends. They used it to send secret messages from one end of the room to the other.
Letter sound water squirters. I said the sound, and he had to find it and shoot it.
Easton's Mommy and me preschool had a bus that took him to and from:)
Summer time fun at Aunt Tiffany's house!
Ohio friends!
Cardboard box puppet theater conference center. I used old fabric and a big fridge box. This kept the boys busy and engaged during conference.
I put lights in the ceiling because the boys love Christmas lights and it made it seem more like the conference center.
I found these apostle puppets on pinterest, and it gave me the idea to make the conference center puppet theater. Elder Bednar is still in his jammies. The boys will have to color him, get him dressed with velcroed on clothes, and ready to speak.
Bags for when each apostle gets up to speak. There is an apostle related activity in each. I am hoping this will help them to get to know the prophets more.
We put a baby gate blocking off the front room till conference started and the boys stood at it and knocked with their pens. They were so excited to watch!
Boys busy with the new toys that we swapped with a friend, and the conference bags. Oaklyn loved just hanging out.
Easton saw the people emptying out of the conference center and asked us why all the people were leaving. When we told him conference was over for 6 months. He burst into tears, and said "I don't want conference to be over!". He cried for a while till we talked about the fun parts of conference and how we were so excited for next time.
I am getting really excited for Halloween. We printed and cut out these shadow puppets and decided to try them out in Oaklyn’s huge closet.
We were a pirate family for Halloween and Oaklyn was our parrot.
We attached the ship to our stroller to rest tired legs as we went trick-or-treating.
The boys opened one of Aunt Anne's famous packages and they were so excited to put on their skeleton shirts and their bone glasses, and also enough cute Halloween sugar items for lots of energy. They got THE cutest cards from their amazingly smart, and sweet cousins. You better believe we did the skeleton dance and dem bones songs in this getup. They absolutely loved it!
Oaklie had baby toys but prefered her brother’s “men”. She's a man eater:)
Mummy! My Mom used to tuck us in like this as kids, and I love that I get to do the same with my own! She made everything so fun!
This game we called "the bomb". You throw the bomb/ball at site words and letter sounds. Obviously, anything with the word bomb in it makes it more fun to practice.
Med school graduation!
Flying from med school grad to Utah to be with family. These kids are way more experienced at flying than I was at their age.
